The Cochran Wrenn Duo has been selected to receive an Marlborough Cultural Council Grant. The grant will help support InConcert, an exciting new music education initiative with the Cochran Wrenn Duo and the Marlborough Public Schools Music Program. The Cochran Wrenn Duo was one of 15 organizations selected for this award.
The mission of the Marlborough Cultural Council is to promote excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities and sciences in order to improve the quality of life for Marlborough residents and to contribute to the economic vitality of our community.
The Cochran Wrenn Duo was named a finalist in the National Flute Association Arts Venture Competition, which took place August 12, 2016 at the National Flute Convention in San Diego. The Cochran Wrenn Duo was selected as one of 4 finalists through a highly competitive review process. As a finalist, flutist Bonnie Cochran traveled to San Diego to present InConcert.
The biennial Arts Venture Competition is designed to reward new thinking and viable, innovative ideas with a $2,000 project grant. The competition seeks projects that approach performance and education in a new way (often through collaboration with communities or other genres or media).
The Cochran Wrenn Duo and InConcert has been selected to receive an Alumni Entrepreneurial Grant from Boston Conservatory. The grant will help support our exciting new music education initiative, a collaboration between the Cochran Wrenn Duo and the Marlborough Public Schools Music Program from May 2017-May 2018. The Cochran Wrenn Duo was selected for this award through a competitive review process.
Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s Entrepreneurial Grant Program for alumni empowers alumni to explore and develop their unique programmatic ideas in the arts. These grants fund meaningful and inventive performance endeavors that expand the artist’s toolkit as a performer, leader, and businessperson while fostering creative spirit.
As a winner of the Boston Conservatory Alumni Entrepreneurial Grant, the Cochran Wrenn Duo performed in Seully Hall at Boston Conservatory on October 15, 2016 for a program entitled, Celebrating the Past, Shaping the Future.
